UPDATED
BATTLE SCENARIOS
In order to keep things interesting and also to incorporate the elements
that we have at the event, the battle scenarios are going to be amended.
The key components of what happened in the actual battle will not be altered
but they are being changed to increase the length and also the action
for both participant and spectator. Watch for details to come. (back

PROGRAM
AND SITE UPDATE
There will again be a time of highland games on Saturday afternoon that
will be hosted by Glenn McClain and the Frasers. All participants this
year, both government and Jacobite, are invited to test their abilities
in events ranging from stone toss to caber toss.
The volunteer association at the site will be hosting a tavern during
public hours that will be selling food and non-alcoholic beverages for
those who would rather not cook. Also, a number of sutlers will be attending
and will be set up by the tavern. (back

SAFETY
REMINDERS AND UPDATE
Safety rules from previous years will be in effect. Wooden safety weapons
will be required for those participating in the close contact and
hand-to-hand elements. You also need to remember that everyone who is
going to participate in the afternoon battles needs to be at the morning
rehearsal or they will not be able to participate in the close combat.
Unit commanders please ensure that you are enforcing this with your groups.
Also remember there will be NO fixing of bayonets at any time during
the battle scenarios. Bayonets will only be fixed for ceremonial purposes
and then only at the command of the overall commander of the army or the
brigade commanders. (back to top)
CEILEIGH
The ceileigh looks like it will be the highlight of the weekend. Please
remember that this is open to all participants and costumed site volunteers
so lets make everyone feel welcome. Let us not gloat in victory Saturday
too much for we know what is coming Sunday! The MC and co-ordinator for
this years ceileigh will be Pete Raine who is well known to our army and
is eminently qualified for the role. The group 'Highland Reign', fresh
from their recent CD release, has agreed to perform as the headline act,
which is a great privilege. If you are interested in performing PERIOD
APPROPRIATE MUSIC, please contact Pete Raine at:

LADIES
TEA
Last years "Ladies Tea With The Prince" Saturday afternoon was a rousing
success and will be repeated this year. An interesting new format will
be presented plus again the opportunity for the ladies to interact in
first person. You are encouraged to bring out and wear your finery as
this is an opportunity to partake in a bit of society(back

STONE
FROM GLENFINNAN
Every year we try to add a new twist or element to the program to make
it interesting and also connect us even more to what actually happened.
This year, among other things, we will be having a large stone direct
from Glenfinnan Scotland which will be used in the Raising of the Standard
on Friday night. Courtesy of the John White, from the ever-resourceful
Clan MacGregor, this will help us bring it even more to life.(back

VISITORS
FROM OVERSEAS
This year we have a number of distinguished guests visiting us from Scotland
who are part of the National Trust of Scotland to observe the event. This
is a tremendous honor and one we hope to build off of. Let us continue
our efforts to present and accurate and vibrant portrayal of the 1745
campaign and send them back with not only fond memories but also a positive
attitude. In addition, a member of The Lace Wars Society, who are our
counterparts in the UK, is flying over to participate in the event. If
you have the opportunity to meet any of these people please extend to
them all hospitality.(back to top)
FUNDRAISING
FOR THE NATIONAL TRUST
As with last year, we will once again be collecting money and seeking
donations for the National Trust of Scotland for restoration work at the
Culloden Battlefield Park. With the outbreak of foot and mouth disease
in the United Kingdom recently this initiative is even more important
since the country is basically shut down which is killing their tourist
revenues and hurting their ability to fund these valuable projects. Please
consider supporting this worthy endeavor. Elliott MacFarlane of Elcho's
LifeGuards will again be co-ordinating this. (back
