TO ALL PARTICIPANTS

4TH ANNUAL SCOTTISH LIVING HISTORY CULLODEN WEEKEND

Dear Participant,

I am writing on behalf of The National Trust for Scotland to express its heartfelt thanks for supporting our work here through your fund raising efforts in Culloden, USA.

The National Trust for Scotland is, of course, a non-profit organisation that receives no direct aid from the British Government. It relies heavily on individual and group memberships together with donations and legacies.

The built and countryside properties that the Trust looks after are held permanently for the future access, enjoyment and education of all. None of these places, nor their contents, are for sale. They comprise not only the homes of the great, the good, the famous and the humble but also those of our country’s unique wildlife and birdlife.

The conservation and maintenance of old buildings both large and small, the management of fragile countryside and the care of the natural environment are expensive and ongoing commitments. We are delighted, therefore, that our friends in the United States wish to help us. More strength to your elbow!

We wish you all a wonderful time at Culloden and send you warm greetings from Scotland. We hope you will find yourself here before too long and that you will be sure to come and see us. You will always be welcome.

Yours aye,

Sandy Weir
