Culloden 2001: A Scottish Odyssey

SITE
-Public hours will be 11am to 5pm Saturday and 11am to 4pm on Sunday.
-All cars are to be off site by 8:30am Saturday and entire camp should be period by that point and throughout the weekend, public hours or otherwise. Please take the time to review the participant guidelines at http://www.macfarlanescompany.org or contact your clan chief.
-In our ongoing desire to educate the public on life in Scotland in 1745 it is important during public hours that we interact with the public and also demonstrate some of our skills. There are already some demos planned but there is room for more if you or your group would like to show some facet of life in 1745.
-There will be Park Rangers on-site throughout the weekend who will provide security and law enforcement. Please remember that there is to be no alcohol consumed during public hours. At other times use period containers only for the duration of the weekend.
-Arrival is allowed any time after 6pm Thursday night.

PROGRAM
-Ladies Tea: Ladies you are once again invited to tea with the Prince at his headquarters Saturday. Please bring your own tea cup and be ready to interact as ladies of that time would have. Saturday, 3:45, Prince's Headquaters. (Note: the tea will be finished in time for you to watch the highland games as well if you wish to do both.)
-Spinning: Bring your spinning, carding, knitting, sewing, etc. and a chair and join us for spinning and chatting. Learn to spin, or come to watch spinners at work. Demonstration of spinning and related arts. Saturday 11-1, near the Prince's Headquaters, Mrs. Lieutenant Enoch presiding.
-Battles: Please take the time to review the Battle Scenarios. Clan chiefs do remember that you are responsible for the conduct and discipline of your troops. This is especially important during the highland charge phase of battle. I know it is difficult to hold the troops back but that is where your leadership will come in and carry the day.
-Safety: Please take time to review the Safety Rules. Clan chiefs please review them with your clan. Each brigade will have it's own safety inspection prior to battle but it would be good to do it as a group before form up. Wooden safety weapons only are to be used in hand-to-hand combat scenarios. Finally, there will be no actions or attacks directed towards the government camp at all unless approved by Prince Charles prior to it being initiated. We are trying to build a credible opponent and so need to treat them with decorum and dignity. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
- Boat Landing: There may be another boat landing as there was last year depending on availability of the boat. This will be a last minute program addition if possible.

REGISTRATION
If you have not gotten your registration in please do so asap as it is required to ensure adequate camp allotments and also to balance the brigades out. Regular mail or email is fine for this, as long as it gets in on time. Only registered approved groups will be allowed to participate.

ENEMY
Our enemies numbers grow but they will still be quite outnumbered. Please make them welcome at the highland games, ceileigh and when they visit our camp (if not under arms). It is in our best interest to be courteous and welcoming to them in order to build from past success. I trust you will all be ambassadors in this regard.
